Peaceful Warrior Productions is the television, film and digital production company of multiple Emmy-Award-winning producer and director, Amani Martin.

Amani recently directed and produced Ali: The Mission for ESPN’s “30 for 30” digital short series. The film explores a peace mission Muhammad Ali took to Baghdad in 1990 to win the release of US hostages detained by Saddam Hussein after Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. Amani recently worked as a producer and writer of “Benji” an official selection of the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, and Urban World festival. Benji the tragic story of the murder of Chicago high school basketball legend, Ben Wilson, has been one of the most acclaimed films in ESPN’s Peabody-winning 30 for 30 documentary series.

Prior to Peaceful Warrior, Amani was a Director of Production at HBO, where he won multiple Emmys as a Producer and Director, including a 2007 Emmy for the documentary, Brooklyn Dodgers: The Ghosts of Flatbush. Amani was also a Senior Producer for HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, producing some of the show’s most impactful profiles, human-interest stories, and hard-news pieces.

Amani independently-produced the documentary, Cutting Edge, for HBO. That film explored the relationships and chatter between the clients and barbers of a raucous barbershop in Harlem, NY.

Through Peaceful Warrior, Amani Martin has widened the scope of his projects to create innovative and successful branding campaigns for major companies and organizations, including Tumi, the travel accessory brand; Ducati Motorcycles; Tommy Hilfiger; and the United States Soccer Foundation.

Amani created and produced The Road to Excellence, a co-branding venture between Tumi and Ducati, hosted by the CEOs of the two companies. Shot in Spain’s Basque Country and focusing on the region’s stellar cuisine, The Road to Excellence explored the roots of regional excellence in a specific field or industry. The show garnered a 2012 Telly Silver Award, the highest honor in that competition. He also created and produced an award-winning campaign of 12 commercials for ESPN’s 2011 Black History Month commemoration.
